Dear Parishioner,

Fr Jones arrived safely in Italy and via text messages I am led to understand that he is having a very enjoyable holiday. We look forward to welcoming him back in a couple of week's time. He has however asked me to pass on a few items of information for you and so here they are:

The CAFOD family fun day takes place this year on the Sat 13th May at Pantasaph. The timing of the event is l1 am to 5 pm, with Mass bring celebrated by Bishop Edwin at 4 pm. In addition to the usual activities, this is a special day as it will be the Welsh Launch of Cafod's new campaign 'Unearth Justice', with a guest speaker coming up from London. I encourage you to go along and take part and make it a memorable day for all concerned.

You may remember that approximately 12 months ago we celebrated a 'culture mass'. Well this year Father Jones would like to go one step further and celebrate an 'international culture mass'. The idea is to get as many people from our different cultures, nationalities and ways of life to take part in this mass (singing and reading etc), which will be the 9:30 am mass on Pentecost Sunday. Such events take a great deal of preparation and so the first meeting to 'pool ideas' with Father Jones, will be on Thursday 18th May at 7:30 pm in Stella Maris. We have a huge range of cultures and nationalities now living within the parish so please make the effort to come along and make this mass one to remember.

This year is the Golden Jubilee of the restoration of the Shrine of Our Lady of Cardigan. The national pilgrimage is on the 28th May and a special mass has been organised and the Main Celebrant will be
Archbishop Faustino Sainz Munoz, the Papal Nuncio to Great Britain.
For further details please see the poster in the Porch.

On Tuesday 23rd May at 7:30 pm I will be inducted as the President of Llandudno Churches Together (Cytûn). This is a tremendous honour for us as a parish community. Please do come along to my induction service it would be fantastic to have, a full church as we join together with our fellow Christians to worship the risen Lord Jesus.

Well the football season is drawing to a close and the race for second spot is on. Hopefully United will get the victory this Sunday against Charlton and secure that invaluable Champions League Spot. That, together with their victory in the Carling Cup Final has made it a satisfactory season all round. I predict that once we sign a good all round midfield player the premiership trophy will make it's way back to it's true home at Old Trafford. Watch out Chelsea the Red Devils are hot on your heels!!!!

I will be in Lourdes next week, if you have any prayer intentions, place them in an envelope and pop them through the presbytery letterbox and I will gladly place them in the box at the grotto. I will be praying for you all, please say a few for me.

May God continue to bless us,

(signed) Andrew.

Fr Andrew Franklin

PS; A warm welcome to Father John Toole who will be celebrating mass on Wednesday and Friday this week here at Our Lady's.
