Dear Parishioner,

As from Tuesday, I shall be away for a fortnight’s holiday.  Sr Jennifer is already away, and will be extending her break by a further week, returning on 12 May.  She has not been at all well recently and we hope and pray that the extended holiday will be just what she needs.  Fr Andrew will be here to see to all your spiritual needs.

At both the 530pm Saturday Mass and the 930am Sunday Mass this weekend, we will be crowning the statue of Our Lady.  This is an ancient tradition within our Catholic Church which expresses our love and devotion to the Mother of God.  May is traditionally her month – try to make it so in your spiritual life by perhaps saying the Rosary more frequently.  It will only be when we get to heaven that we will fully understand and appreciate the help we have received
from the prayers of our Blessed Lady.

There is a perfectly good electronic organ at the back of the church which is looking for a good home.  If you would like it, please take it.  But don’t take the wrong one!  The one I’m offering you is the one at the back of Our Lady’s aisle, not the one in the organ loft!

And talking about finding a good home for the organ reminds me of what I was talking about in last week’s Newsletter, finding a good home for my two Welsh Terriers, which I have to part with because of my asthma.  I am happy to tell you that good homes have indeed been found.  You know already that David and Anita Swann have taken Tudno, but last Monday Mrs Pat Hughes kindly took Hwyl.  David and Anita will give young Tudno all the exercise he needs, and Pat will certainly give middle-aged Hwyl all the love and attention she needs and deserves.  I am very grateful to them indeed.

Within the next week or so, you will see a book rack appearing on the wall near where the small organ is (or used to be!).  This will eventually be filled with booklets from the Catholic Truth Society, and will provide you with an ever updated selection of booklets and pamphlets on the faith.  I hope you will take time to see what’s there and sometimes to purchase something.  You can be sure that everything which appears there will be worth reading and will promote your own understanding of the faith and its relevance to the moral issues of our time.  Sister Philo from Loreto will be selecting the booklets and keeping the rack updated.  We are very grateful to her for her willingness to do this important job for the parish.

God bless you,

Fr Antony Jones.
