Catechesis on the Mass.

While I was on holiday, in Pwlheli, where there is so much going on and where the sun shone twelve hours a day every day I was there, I took to writing more articles for our Catechesis on the Mass series. I completed five further pieces, each dealing with the Creed. I hope you will find them enlightening and instructive; but I hope even more that you will read them! As I have pointed out many times now, this series is not just to explain the changes in the Mass texts (which it does) but more importantly to give us a much deeper understanding of the Mass in all its parts. Please repay my efforts by taking a careful look at it, even studying it. Go to the page entitled: Catechesis on the Mass.

We introduced the new texts of the Mass on Saturday 4 September. Now they are the norm. Printed cards are available.

Some Definite Purpose

The latest section of the Bishop’s Document, Some Definte Purpose, is now available on its own page. It is meant to be discussed within the family. Please do so, involving all the young people. There will be opportunity to discuss it at Parish level on Thursday, 6 October, at 230pm. But the more important of the two is the discussion of it at home .

Date of Confirmation:

The date for 2011 Confirmation has finally been settled. Bishop Regan will not be retiring now until next year. He has agreed to confirm our children on 6 November at the 930am Mass.

The four sessions with me, which are an absolute requirement for those being confirmed, will be at Stella Maris at 730pm on the following dates: 13 October; 20 October; 27 October; 3 November. In addition, there will be a special Penitential Service at 10 am on Saturday 29 October.

Parents and Sponsors are expected to attend the sessions with the young people. It will be a wonderful occasion and I am looking forward to it already!

The Next Polish Mass

will be celebrated here at 5.30pm on Sunday 23 October.
